You may have read about the beach replenishment efforts on part of the beach on the north end. As part of the process to rebuild the northern beaches that are basically gone in some places, they are building up very high sand dunes in places along the beach. When I say very high, I mean at least a few stories high in height in some locations. I don’t know the the technique involved, whether the dunes will naturally erode into a new beach or if the dunes will get pushed down into a new beach. All of the extra sand seems to be getting taken from the beach just north of Mariner‘s Landing. It was scary to see people, including children, scaling these mountains of sand.

That has to be a sight!
I've noticed those the last few trips I've made down there and it was a little scary watching people stand on top of them.
I, too, took some photos of these gigantic dunes.
Yeah...we've been noticing the extra-high sand dunes too. My kids wanted to climb one of them but I convinced them it wasn't safe.
wow! that can be quite dangerous if scaled, yes. great pictures though...thank you for sharing. let's see what transpires from all of this...
