Here are some pictures and observations from a day trip to Wildwood on April 14th, 2006.
This was the year of North Wildwood's centennial celebration.
They added these new streetlights to Pacific Ave.
This photo place was new this summer.
They were starting to rebuild Sam's Pizza after the fire that destroyed that block.
The Sand Jamm Surf Shop at the front of Hunt's Pier was being constructed too.
The Wildwood Casino was being called the "Castle Casino".
They added the emergency spiral staircase to the Sea Serpent this year.
Gateway still had its old facade.
This tram car was striped clean before getting the Coke wrap.
My wife was pregnant with my son, so this was officially his first time down to Wildwood. This was also his first taste of Curley's Fries. It wouldn't be long before he was loving Wildwood as much as I did when I was young.
what an awesome retro report, love these! "the big winner" was one of my grandmother's favorite spots- she'd always go around saying "big winner! big winner!" anytime we'd play card games as kids. also of note, Curely's old cup design!
