My wife and myself headed down to Wildwood Crest on Sunday 10/3 and although it was later in the year than our usual September trip due to family events we had a great time. The weather was beyond what we could have ever hoped for with temperatures averaging about 75. We hit Morey's Octoberfest for a while before checking into the Waikiki and it was a good time and the weather was perfect. I We walked the boards a couple of times during the week and there really wads,'t much open. I did grab a couple of slices from Franconi's they were actually pretty good and later in the week bought some fudge to take home from Douglass Fudge. We spent quite a bit of time relaxing on the beach and the sun deck at the Waikiki and just enjoyed the peace.and beauty. Several times we walked the seawall in North Wildwood as that has become a favorite spot in recent years. Among the restaurants we visited were the Harbor View between WW Crest and Cape May, the Boathouse, the Surfing Pig and Salty Mermaid in North WW and the Lobster House and C View Inn in Cape May which has the best wings I have ever had. One thing we noticed was a lot of businesses and motels especially closed earlier than normal for the season due to the pandemic. Some of the motels that were open had good crowds though including the Waikiki, Port Royal, Pan American, Reges, Shalimar and a few others. All the first floor rooms at the Waikiki were closed as the new owners began to renovate. All in all it was a great week!

Great report! My family was down there for a reunion that week and raved about the weather. I'm glad to hear they're working on the Waikiki...we stayed there in May and it was sad to see how much work it needed. I'm glad it'll be getting some TLC put back into it.
Nice trip report. It sounds like you had a good time.
Awesome. I hope there are pics coming, too. I love people's vcay pics. By the way, a little off the beaten path, on Bayshore Road in Villas NJ, about 12 minutes from the bridge, is a fairly new take-out place called Belly Busters. They have the awesomest wings you can imagine! Now, I HATE wings. But everything I hate about wings, Belly Busters doesn't do.
I hate how wings are soggy. BUT NOT AT BELLY BUSTERS
I hate how there is very little meat. BUT NOT THEIRS
I hate how the bones get in the way and make it hard to nibble the meat off the wings. AT BELLY BUSTERS IT'S EASY TO ACCESS
You have to try their GARLIC PAREMSAN wings. They're incredible. I like to rub the wings in the extra garlic parm butter at the bottom before indulging. The only drawback is that inflation increased their wing prices 50%. But get a "small" pack of 12, which feeds one person.
Sounds like you had a great trip. What restaurant stood out as your favorite?
It was only open weekends, a pandemic victim I guess. The view is great and the restaurant has a large new breakfast menu and name the Tiki Top. I will get there next year for sure.
Glad you and your wife were able to visit. Was the roof top restaurant open? It is such a wonderful view from up there. Thanks for the report.........Warren.
