I guess it's old enough to be nostalgia now, but I wrote, recorded, and performed a jingle that appeared on 98.7 FM, The Coast. It broadcast during 2007 and 2008. The Jingle was for Robinson's Market in Lower Township. These are the lyrics:
"They come from Stone Harbor, Philly, and Wildwood Crest.
They know Robinson's Market is simply the best.
With sandwiches and salads that are made to impress:
Robinson's Market is simply the best.
[Clarinet solo, where Bill Huf will announce the weekly specials]
I'll say it one more time for those who may not have guessed:
Robinson's Market is simple the best!"
Does anyone recall this one?
And what are your favorite area jingles? Mine dates from 1960:
"If you've got a passion for fashion
and you've got a craving for saving
take the wheel of you automobile
and swing on down to... Ideal".
I remember reading the lyrics reprinted in National Review magazine, of all places.
I may not be a little before your time, as that Ideal ad ran through the 1970s and into the 1980s. I wasn't around until the 70s. I love this one from the 1990s:
"Big Wally's Furniture Store
Big, big discounts, selection and more.
Save big money when you walk through the door
at Big Wally's Furniture Store.
(Verse 2)
Big Wally's Furniture Store
Living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms galore.
Carolina Furniture, direct to your door
from Big Wally's Furniture Store."
