It looks like a new Starbucks will be coming across from the McDonald's on Rio. They are going before the planning board next month.

I am not a Starbucks fan at all as I have stated but I do believe their appeal is limited to a certain type of customer. There are at least 3 Starbucks within 5 miles of my home with another to open later this year just a few blocks from my home, There are also at least 12 Dunkins and 2 WaWa stores in the same area.
Not a Starbucks fan at all for many reasons, but I don't think this will really hurt any businesses on the island. A location near the entrance of the island won't hurt the local shops any more than the existing Wawa, McDonalds or any other chain already in that area has, or at least I hope. These things are popping up like weeds though, I have two within 10 minutes of my house. I don't get the allure.
I'm not sure how I feel about this. At home, I'll stop there every once in a while, but for a place like Wildwood, I'd rather see something more unique.
Ugh! Not what or just about anyone else on this board would prefer but the zoning board would need a valid reason for denying it. If it does go up you can bet the ranch I'll never set foot in the place.
I hope the board rejects them. All the above, plus Starbucks is overpriced, underwhelming, and has nothing to do with the Doo Wop image.
This is awful and a death sentence. Starbucks usually means hyper gentrification follows. Gentrification is one thing, hyper is at a whole new level of ridiculousness.
Along with that, this will damage many of the established mom and pop places around the island. I really, really hope this doesn't go through.
