As most already know, the old Doo Wop Coffee shop in the Tangiers motel has closed and relocated to the shut down Tony Lukes in the Crest. Jason has been working on it all Winter and its due to open as the Doo Wop Drive in. Heres a pic of so far..

I was wondering if this was going to happen. I see that it has. I wish the owner of the business the best of luck, and hope this isn't a mistake.
The former Tony Luke's location is a bit off the beaten path if you're staying in one of the area motels. And let's face it- the proximity to a lot of vacationers was one of the reasons the Doo Wop Coffee Shop was successful. People could walk from their motels- no need to find parking, etc. The business had outgrown the Tangiers location, but I worry that moving far from the motels is going to hurt business.
The Tangiers will surely fill the space by leasing to someone else, and when a new business reopens a lot of people are probably going to think it's the same thing with a different name. They're not going to walk/drive a few blocks to follow the business. The business taking over the Tangiers location will probably do well because people know it's there. It's been there for years.
I'm not trying to be down on this, just thinking there might be an issue on the Doo Wop owner's end.
As Tony Luke's it was outside dining only but the inside of the building looked quite big.
yea he is doing a heck of a job on the building
My favorite is just two blocks from your favorite- Rosemary & Atlantic (the Shalimar) .
My favorite little corner of
the world.
I did not know about that. Thanks for posting. We have gone there over the years, but in recent years it was just too busy to get in for breakfast. Now hopefully they will have more room. Will it be a true drive in as well as interior seating? ....Warren
That looks awesome. Glad the old Tony Luke's building is getting new life.
looks great! THAT'S what new developments should look like in WW, even if it's just re-purposed buildings.
Looks really nice
