Between the virus and losing my job, I knew my August reservation was going to be taken off the table. It was sad enough knowing I would not be there for Mother's Day weekend. The next time we were set to go down was for the car show weekend in September, which I have attended for the past 19 years (we even got married and honeymooned down there a week before that weekend). After some thought, we decided to go ahead and send our deposit for those dates, whether or not they actually have the car show.
It's been a rough several months and I can't imagine not going down at all. Even if everything is closed, just being there will be a breath of fresh air. I know things can change but I am hoping that by the end of September everything will be a little more settled down.
I decided against making reservations this year. Still too much uncertainty for me. If things look extremely positive in August, I'll see if I can get a room for a night or two. If not, I hope to do the 6 hour round trip for a day trip. Leave my house at 4 a.m, get back 9 at night!
Sorry to hear about your current situation, it was a close call for me but I survived. I hope you enjoy yourself when you go, you deserve it!
we too have our September car show hotel all lined up and ready to go.. Hope its a go
Sorry to hear about the challenges you have been facing. The beach does have a certain healing quality about it, and a trip to Wildwood is good for the soul.
Sorry to hear about your job. Hopefully you are getting some unemployment to make it through. As for the car show, according to the worker at Snow White...all events planned for this year have been cancelled...including the fall events like the car show and Irish Week. I'm sure some things will be open during your visit in September and you'll have a good time.
