It's so nice to have some normalcy return...people coming back down the shore for summer vacations, businesses and rides open, and the return of the fall events. I was taking a look at the events calendar, and here is some of what is scheduled to happen after labor day weekend. As always, I'll be down for the fall car show weekend...is anyone else making plans to check any of these out? If so, which ones?

Sept. 17-19: Boots on the Beach Country Music Festival
Sept. 17-18: Firefighters Convention
Sept. 23-26: Fall Classic Car Show
Sept. 24-26: Irish Fall Festival
Sept. 25: Seafarers Celebration
Oct. 1-3: Race of the Gentlemen Vintage Car and Motorcycle Beach Drag Races
Oct. 1-2: Olde TIme Italian Festival
Oct. 1-3: Mid-Atlantic Police and Fire Survivors Weekend
Oct. 15-16: Fabulous 50s and Beyond Weekend
Nov. 20: Novembefest
We went in the off-season... February. We still used the outdoor hot tub.
I like the Starlux. It's one of the Morey's-owned resorts.
we are heading down from wed to sunday for the car show with our car. Will be inside the CC on display. Cant wait
With a school aged son that does pretty limit you to summer trips but you still seem to be able to get away here and there. I'm past the kids still at home stage so we can pretty get away almost anytime if we really want to. I still see a lot of kids down there for the car show in September as parents pull their kids out of school Thursday and Friday.
We actually stayed at the Ocean Holiday a couple of times in May a few years ago and only paid $65 for a two room ocean view efficiency suite. At our age (late 50's) we prefer May-June and September also as it's not so hot or crazy crowded. Around $250 is our max for July and August also. I can remember when I was 22 staying at the Viking with my cousin and our girl friends and paying$58 with free coffee and donuts at poolside every morning and free hot dogs at least 2 nights. Fun care free days.
The people that renovated the Pier 6600 into the Icona bought it and are doing a head to toe renovation, don't know what is taking so long but maybe it is pandemic related. we want to do a long weekend at the Icona sometime maybe even in the winter as it is open year round and is very very nice. Staying in season is not happening for us as $500+ a night is out of our league!
Thanks for the suggestions Nicole! We are thinking about the Bristol Plaza as the renovation looks nice, we are just a little concerned if there will be construction next door at the old Ocean Holiday. The Armada has a great location and view by the park and the Adventurer looks great too. We shall see but are partial to staying in the crest along the bike path. Thanks again.
Looks like a back to normal schedule. We can't make the car show this year but are planning coming down the week of October 3rd but haven't decided on a hotel yet. Looks like we miss all the events but the quiet will be nice. Have fun at the car show it's great! I'm not big on the Irish Festival as there are too many drunks. Any hotel suggestions if we decide to pass on the Waikiki? Thanks.
